Introduction

Exploring Missions is designed to create a deeper understanding of the biblical, historical, and cultural perspectives of missions, outreach and the world Christian movement. God's plan has always been to reach the world with the message of His redeeming love through the gospel of Jesus Christ. In this class, we will build a foundation upon which disciples will be equipped to bring the gospel into their world. Although most of us are not called to traditional missionary work, God is calling each of us to reach our families, our neighbors, our co-workers and our communities. He is calling us to be salt and light; He is calling us to carry out the great commission right where we live.

This course will include examination of the call and application of traditional missionary work. Students will also engage in personal development activities and practice outreach applications. You may expect college level reading, weekly assignments, group discussions and projects that will build your faith. We hope that you are enriched and experience growth as a result of your participation in this class.
